Course correction

Hi Everyone,

Yard game answers from yesterday's post:
   1.) yard sale
   2.) yard-o-led (from Fahrney's)
   3.) yard stick
   4.) yard arm
   5.) yard bird

Thanks for your replies and for being such good sports. It goes to show you that not every day is a good blog day! From now on though, I'll be sticking to my usual fare: gardens, tea, and those people and things that mean the most to me!

Exactly three months ago today we were shivering up here in New England, wondering if spring would ever arrive. Icicles drizzled from our water feature....hard to believe, isn't it?

From this (March 22, 2014):
To this:

What are you doing to enjoy your first week of summer (or whichever season it is where you live)?

REMEMBER: The drawing to win a copy of my memoir ends on Thursday, 26 June.
Details are in Saturday's post: "Win a hard cover version of my memoir!"

Hi Lavender Dreams, Thanks for visiting - glad you liked Chippy. He's driving our mini-Dachshund crazy.

I'm looking forward to being held hostage in my sewing room by the heat too. ;-) Hugs to you too, Vickie

I am picking cherries, cherries, and more cherries this first week of summer.

It really IS hard to believe that while just a few months ago, my trees were barren, they are now filled to overflowing with delicious fruit. The magic of spring/summer gets me every year. By March, I'm absolutely convinced that the trees will be barren forever, that spring won't happen this year. Then it does, and I stand in wonder.

I wanted to let you know that I featured your blog in a blog tour. Visit my most recent post for more information. I do hope you'll be able to participate.

Blessings,
Patti

Love your chipmunk. Winter has arrived here - and I am dashing outside to finish (ha!) work in the garden, and spending more time reading. And hissing and spitting at blogger.
I enjoyed your yard puzzles, but have to ask yard-o-led? Explanation please.

I was just thinking about that the other day...how we all were snowed in this winter and now we are outside, free to enjoy the beauty hidden beneath the snow! And to think we owe it all to Mother Nature!!!....:)JP

Hi EC, Chipmunks make me smile, but there are way too many of them filling their cheeks with sunflower seed from the bird feeder.

I can relate to your frustration with Blogger....it's so fickle.

Take it easy with your garden work!

Happy Summer! We will be visiting Jaemor Farms this week. They grow their own strawberries, blueberries, and peaches!

EC - I sent you an email explanation. Also just ran into another blogger who described the same issues as you and gave her your blog address so she could connect with you. Definitely something wonky going on with Blogger! Vickie

Nice photos, Vickie. The progression of the seasons really IS quite amazing, isn't it?

I'm so happy to be able to look in my backyard and see the trickling fountain instead of the mounds of snow.

Thanks so much for all your visits to my blog. Susan

Thanks, Susan. So glad to "see" you here. Amen to seeing anything but mounds of snow! Vickie

Love that little chipmunk photo. It has gotten extremely warm here in good ol' NC. Sometimes the humidity is just dreadful. I love to sit at my living room window and crochet, while I watch the birds at our feeders when it gets too hot to enjoy the outdoors. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Hi Valerie,

Any time I spot one, I fondly recall my "pet" chipmunk when I was a kid...gee, I should write about that!

I used to crochet, many years ago...and of course bird-watching is so relaxing...we have more in common than I realized! Stay cool. Blessings and Sunshine to you too, Vickie
